looooooong term project

I was a quilter before I was a knitter and a spinner.  Time was I could finish a handpieced/handquilted quilt in less than a year.  A post by a fellow blogger brought to mind an unfinished quilt tucked away in the closet.

I first posted about this unfinished top in July 2008.  A year or so later the top/batting/backing were basted.  Then it was folded up, put away and kinda sorta but not really forgotten.

In the days weeks months years since then, I toyed with having it machine quilted by someone who knew how to do that.  Or even listing it "as is" in my etsy shop.   But my husband talked me out of both of those brilliant plans.  So now the hand quilting has begun.

It's only Janury.  Dare I predict its completion this year?

Oh, goodness. I, too, was a quilter before knitting and spinning. Whenever I visit my quilting friends blogs, I want to get out the fabric, thread, and scissors again, and start on another top. I admit having a few to finish, too.

I love the print in your quilt. You will get it finished!!

Never been a quilter, so I'll just admire yours. It's beautiful.
