I put this little chart together for a friend wanted to learn how to read a knitting chart. She came over Wednesday evening and we had a wonderful time knitting together. She's a quick learner. With our limited time we did the 19 stitch cast for a single motif.

It made a good practice piece. But I'm going to tweak it a bit and see where it ends up.
Thank you for all your kind comments and emails about puppy dog Jack. We're finding that the hardest moments are coming in through the door and not having his friendly greeting. That will probably last for quite awhile. He was such a very good dog and yes, a faithful companion for so many years.

Your samples look really nice and it sounds like you had a fun knitting time.
I understand the quiet house being hard. I wonder if leaving a radio on would make it a little easier to enter the house?
Chart reading is on my to-learn list for 2012. How nice to have someone to teach you. Lucky friend.
