Exquisite Design

Daily observations of the sunflowers outside my kitchen window have caused me to examine them more closely than ever before. Aren’t you overwhelmed by the intricate pattern in the intertwining curves?

I’m told that one can find the Fibonacci sequence of numbers in the spirals in the sunflowers, pinecones, and even in the pineapple. That would warrant a g**gle search by those mathematically inclined. I’m content appreciating their beauty through sight and touch. Give yourself a special treat by clicking on the picture below to enlarge!

Do you see all those itty bitty, yellow flowers inside?! What a surprise it was to see them through the close-up eye of the camera lens!!! There must be hundreds of them ~ (maybe thousands?) Curious about what lay beneath the star-shaped petals , I gently peeled them off to reveal the developing seeds.

One last look.

This is an exquisitely complex plant, indeed. God designed His creation so we would look carefully and find Him there. Our God wants us to find Him and to know Him. How great He is!

I love to sit and look at my hands, pondering:
Their beauty and grace in movement.
Their efficiency and effectiveness as a mechanical device.
Their necessity in the day-to-day functioning of my life.
The surging of life through the capillaries and veins.

Thank you, God, for my hands. Thank you for your creation. Thank you for life in all its forms.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:14) Thank you, God for revealing yourself to us through your creation. I praise you and thank you. Glory. Glory.
