UFO (UnFinished Object) ~ Laurel Burch Quilt

Isn’t this Laurel Burch fabric fun? It’s called “Felines & Canines.” I purchased it on impulse quite a few years ago. Upon bringing it home and looking around I thought … hmmmm, this doesn’t exactly go with anything in our home.

Not letting THAT slow me down too much, I added some turquoise. (Click on the picture to see a close-up of the hand piecing.)

Then some red.

Hey, why not a little purple, pink, lime green and yellow?!

Well, I had hand pieced up all the squares and then left them safely tucked away for quite some time... until such time as we heard we would be first time grandparents, that is. Then I thought ~ wouldn’t it be fun for a little one to find this bright quilt at Gram’s house? Now that the top is all pieced, onto basting and quilting. Let's finish this UFO before baby arrives (early October!)
